Industrial Boiler
Soot Blowers

Providing a wide variety of soot blowing systems to large coal fired utility plants, recovery boilers in paper mills, waste heat boilers in refineries and petro-chemical plants, and garbage disposal boilers.

Model VS-C25 and VS-C45 Long Retractable Soot Blowers

The VS-C25 is a long retractable soot blower for travels up to 25 feet. The VS-45 is also a long retractable soot blower for travels up to 45 feet.  They are used in the higher temperature zones of the boiler to remove ash build up on the boiler tubes. Long retractable soot blowers are the best way to clean hard to remove deposit on boiler tubes because all of the energy exits through either two (2) or four (4) venturi nozzles.

  FEATURES
VS-DC
Feature The design of high efficiency venturi nozzles maximizes the blowing medium, usually steam or air.
Feature Dual rack and pinion design makes the traveling carriage move more balanced during the forward and reverse travel.
Feature An adjustable pressure control disc is mounted on the poppet valve to set the desired blowing pressure to each individual soot blower.
Feature A unique floating disc design allows for proper sealing of the steam or air during temperature change.
Feature Enclosed construction of the box beam provides maximum protection of all the working parts of the soot blower.
Feature Variable cross section wall thickness provides maximum strength of the lance tube during extension into the boiler.
Feature The “slipping rack design feature” provides a change in the cleaning position of the lance tube venturi nozzles each and every time the soot blower starts its forward travel.
Feature The expanda cable can be mounted externally for ease of maintenance.

VS-DC   FEATURES
Feature The soot blower can either be driven by electric motor , air motor, or manual operation.
Feature Mounting of the soot blower is flexible in that it can be mounted conventionally with the poppet valve straight down, out to the left or straight out to the right.
Feature Blowing pressure can be changed by moving the adjustable pressure control disc.
Feature Blowing medium can be superheated steam, saturated steam or compressed air.
Feature A unique floating disc design allows for proper sealing of the blowing medium during temperature change.
Feature Effective control of the start stop position of the venturi eliminates boiler tube erosion.

Model VS-DC Short Retractable Soot Blower is a short travel, approximately 10 inches, retractable type unit used primarily for cleaning slag from the boiler wall tubes.

VS-GX Fixed Position Rotating Sootblower
is designed for applications such as stationary, marine, waste heat boilers, and direct-fired oil-heater applications. They are also sometimes used in the economizer section of larger boilers to remove low temperature deposits.

  FEATURES VS-DC
Feature Mounting arrangements can be either vertical or horizontal.
Feature Blowing medium can be either superheated steam, saturated steam or compressd air.
Feature The blowing pressure can be changed by merely moving the adjustable pressure disc on the valve.
Feature A unique floating disc design allows for proper sealing of the blowing medium during temperature change.
Feature The blowing element is connected by a flexible coupling so as to allow for expansion of the boiler and allow free movement of the element during operation.
Feature A floating seal or positive pressure wall box is provided to prevent boiler gasses from escaping from the boiler.

VS-DC   FEATURES
Feature Arrangement of the venturi nozzles and travel speed of the soot blower by experienced engineers assures efficient cleaning of the air heater baskets.
Feature Movement of the adjustable pressure control disc located on the poppet valve will change the blowing pressure.
Feature A unique floating disc design allows for proper sealing of the blowing medium during temperature change.
Feature The box beam construction provides maximum protection to all of the working parts of the soot blower.
Feature The expanda cable can be mounted externally for ease of maintenance.

Model VS-AH Air Heater Soot Blowers are mainly used to clean heat exchange service of rotary air heater.

  FEATURES
VS-DC
Probe tube cooling feature can prevent lance tube from burning or bending while extended into the boiler.
Box bean construction provides for maximum protection to all of the working parts of the soot blower.
The temperature probe can be provided in three ways:
Non-cooling, water cooling, and air cooling medium.

Bower Pipe System

The Soot Blower Piping System layout is most important so as to allow for expansion and condensate drainage.  Flat headers should be avoided as it is most important that adequate slope be present in all headers and soot blower branch lines.  The more slope is always better.

We can design the proper piping system for any size boiler from small to very large.  Our engineers are experienced and trained to do the job right.

The soot blower piping system usually refers to everything from the pressure reducing station down through the soot blower headers, individual soot blower branch lines to the steam traps and steam flow measuring devices, etc.  Also, included are the pipe hangers as well as expansion allowance.
